I meant to post this five days ago
Brad and I spent the last days of 2010 reflecting on how utterly boring the year had been. We couldn’t remember anything exciting that had happened. It was a struggle to think of the best book we read, the best movie we saw or any other particularly note worthy moments.
I decided I’d take some time to document 2011 month by month so that at the very least I’ll have some proof of how lame this year is sure to be.
So… January.
I saw six movies:
Easy A
The Social Network
Tapped
Beer Wars
Buried
Winter’s Bone
I read three books:
Skippy Dies 1: Hopeland
Skippy Dies 2: Heartland
Skippy Dies 3: Wasteland
I suppose since it’s a series, it might not count as three books but I DID read three separate books so I’m counting it.
The books were really good and of the six, Winter’s Bone was the best.
Also in January:
- I started getting allergy vaccine injections weekly
- I started attending Weight Watchers meetings at work (I’ve lost 6 pounds already)
- I started my last semester of school EVER (probably)
- We had a snow day
-
Winter in NYC is gross.

I’m really not looking forward to the walk to work tomorrow morning.

I am so very happy that this week is over.

When will I learn to not cut my bangs myself?

Brad says I look, “a little potato-y.”

This weekend was exactly what I needed
I spent Saturday lounging around, Sunday getting stuff done and today doing a little bit of both.
This weekend I:
Watched two beverage documentaries (Tapped and Beer Wars) / Caught up on all the TV on my DVR (2 episodes of Top Chef, 2 episodes of SVU) / Grocery shopped for breakfast, lunches and dinners for the week / Made a giant batch of mushroom barley soup and separated it into containers to bring to work for the week / Ironed outfits for the week (plus one alternate) / Wrote some emails and a letter that I had been putting off / Lesson planned for the week / Ate lots of pop tarts / Took down all of the Christmas decorations (booo)
And now I’m curled up on the couch, 100% ready for work tomorrow (although not ready for the snow/rain/sheet/ice pellet storm we’re supposed to get) and getting ready to drink some tea and watch some Lie to Me with Brad.
I really love three day weekends.

What if there was no friendster?
If there was no friendster, there probably wouldn’t be a Melissa Jamieson.
Thank goodness for friendster.
